Navasota & Martha's Bloomers
May 13, 2008
Trip Info:
Our first stop of the day will be at the Americana Alpaca Farm. Alpacas look like a small llama and are shaved for their very wonderful hair, which is compared to cashmere. Next, we travel to Martha's Bloomers, a Home and Garden center that has been recognized in Southern Living magazine. It has a large selection of plants, trees, shrubs, pottery, garden art, antiques, tools, books, hard-to-find items, and much more. You will enjoy wandering around the gardens and nursery filled with waterfalls and canals. Lunch will be at Cafe M. Bloomers, located on the grounds of Martha's Bloomers.
We will tour the Horlock House next. Built in 1982 by Colonel R.A. Horlock for $1200.00, the house is furnished authentically to preserve the life and times of that Texas era. Our last activity for the day will be a self-guided tour of the downtown area and shopping. Don't forget to stop in the Blues History museum while wandering around.
